I was completely unaware that the voting would be for members with 4
weeks standing. Membership for 4 weeks is hardly any test of dedication
to the cause.

That means the only people voting will be
* people that read the small print on such things
* people who have been tipped off by those seeking to arrange the vote a
certain way

The people not voting will be all the honest voters who thought they
might turn up and vote.

The rules don't prevent manipulation, they just require that
manipulation to be planned in advance. As such, it's not clear to me
that the rules will produce a fair result.
