If you have any preference, you are more than welcome to ask questions and clarifications in this mailing list. On the other side, if you have any specific idea about a project you could do which isn’t listed there, we can discuss it. However, it is a bit late to come up with projects now, since the deadline for applications is approaching, so I would recommend you to try one of the proposed ones.
