That patch doesn't apply cleanly at all to REL7_1_STABLE. While I can
find the corresponding code, I'm not sure that making the changes is
a good idea; perhaps the patch depends on some of the previous (quite
extensive) fixes to work correctly? I'm inclined to leave 7.1 alone.
