Need a place holder for your variable in your RAISE expression (like a
printf syntax):

RAISE EXCEPTION ''OLD.famindid = %'', test;

btw, if you just want to see the variable without having your function
bail on you, try RAISE NOTICE ''OLD.famindid = %'', test;
