DBA - Fiksu Inc. - Boston, MA

Fiksu Inc is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to plan, design, install, configure, and tune PostgreSQL databases. The selected candidate will work with the software development team and design database strategies, monitor and improve performance and capacity, and plan for future expansion requirements.

Responsibilities

Maintain and administer production, staging, and testing databases; produce related documentation; improve functional and performance testing.
Populate databases, tune application performance, perform database normalization.
Design and implement backup and recovery procedure and work closely with application support and management team.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar programs and three years of experience using information technology in database applications.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
Significant troubleshooting in resolving database issues; performance tuning skills
