> Over time, the front lines of providing integrated data has moved from custom-built applications to commercial off- the-shelf and other enterprise systems, and now to enterprise data warehouses. Looking back, and looking ahead, it often feels like a long struggle to deliver on the potential value of an organization's data.
>
> This presentation covers some observations on prior data warehouse projects, discusses some typical challenges that data warehouse projects face, and offers some ideas to increase the chances of success for your data warehouse project!

> Join us for Peter Postovoit's expert view on data from the trenches!

> Peter Postovoit works as an independent data consultant, helping organizations understand and attain the most from their data assets. Over the past 14 years, he has worked with clients in the Pacific Northwest from a number of industries, including financial services, retail, manufacturing, public sector, and other specialized services. He has focused increasingly on data warehouse-related activities and worn a number of hats including planner, project manager, architect, data modeler, and ETL developer. In prior work lives, he has held roles both in management and as an individual contributor in industries including banking, insurance, Internet services, and wireless/telecom. This has provided many wonderful opportunities to learn with and learn from organizations and people on data-related matters. It has also given him plenty of time to develop hopefully fact-based and well-founded opinions on making the most of an organization's business information.
