PostgreSQL Consultant needed in Sydney, Australia

Fujitsu Australia a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujitsu
Japan is seeking a fulltime PostgreSQL Consultant to be based at their Sydney
offices in Australia.

The selected candidate will provide PostgreSQL support
and services for various clients of Fujitsu.

The candidate should be able to

- Build, Deploy,
Configure and Maintain PostgreSQL database deployments.

- Provide
customers with clear, detailed and high value solutions.

- Design
deployment, backup and replication scenarios - Propose and implement high availability solutions

- Migrate
databases from other RDBMS to PostgreSQL

Technical Requirements

* At least 4
years experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or Developer.

* Strong
working knowledge of SQL and pl/pgsql

* Strong
experience with backup and replication solutions such as Hot standby and Slony

* Experience
with PostgreSQL and other associated tools such as PgPool, RubyRep, Nagios etc.

* Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly * Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.

* The candidate
should be accountable, self-starter, genuinely interested in all aspects of
production DBA work.

* Experience
with Hadoop or other BigDatabases and column-based storages such as Vertica is
a big plus
