All,

Here's an interesting post on NOVICE; does anyone have data to answer
Gregory's questions?

Later,

Subject: [NOVICE] PostgreSQL questions

Working with startup that will have data ranging from 4TB to 100TB

at each co-location. Could, at some time, exceed 100TB over 3-5 years.

Enterprise Financial application.

Attempting to find large PostgreSQL DB users that can tell me

where my limits are and concerns to be aware of.

Will be 1-3M users. Maybe up to 5-10% online at any given time.

Global product in nature with co-locations that can be located

in US, Canada, UK, EU, Australia, and Japan. More may be added

dependent on acceptance

Replication asych required.

Encryption demands.

Snapshot backups.

DB cleaning, re-indexing a concern.

DB stability and response

Using new Sun Galaxy (AMD) blade servers and E2900 for possible application

DB server.

Would like to use blade servers to scale, but not sure what PostgreSQL will
handle.

Any feedback appreciated.
