Compiled from source and installed successfully:
Version of Postgres : v6.4.2
OS : Linux 2.0.34 (Slackware distribution)
Hardware : Pentium Pro 200MHz
failed regression tests : random, horology
Problems with compilation: none
Comments: The installation instructions imply that make install
will install into PREFIX/pgsql, but the installation actaully
occurs in PREFIX/postgres. It is therefore necessary to create
the installation directory with the name postgres not pgsql and then
chown'd to the Postgres Super User.
