just alot of prepartory work for one...starting with v6.5 and the
commercial support offerings, the -STABLE branch will be maintained until
the new -CURRENT branch becomes the -STABLE one...

That way the -CURRENT branch isn't so rushed to get out, either...if it
goes 6 mos, those running -STABLE and are seeing bugs, they won't get
suck...
