Ynt: Replica servers hanging after the latest security patch update

Hi,
We performed a minor update from 15.14 to 15.18. We applied the binary update while the replica instance was running, then restarted the service. Meanwhile, the master server is still on version 15.14 and has not been updated yet.
We experienced the same issue yesterday on a different instance running version 14, using exactly the same method. We updated from 14.17 to 14.23.

2. Did you shut down PG before applying the patches?
3. How did you apply the patches?
