<DIV>I am trying to get Cygwin/PostgreSQL to work in MS Windows XP Embedded.</DIV>

<DIV>I installed the latest version of Cygwin on a machine running Windows XP Embedded. I have also installed the version of PostgreSQL that came with Cygwin. So far, so good.</DIV>

<DIV>My variables are set as follows:</DIV>

<DIV>I then try to run 'initdb' and get the following error:</DIV>

<DIV>/usr/bin/initdb: cannot create /dev/null: directory nonexistent<BR>/usr/bin/initdb: cannot create /dev/null: directory nonexistent<BR>The program<BR> '/usr/bin/postgres'<BR>needed by initdb does not belong to PostgreSQL version 7.2.1, or<BR>there may be a configuration problem.</DIV>
<DIV>This was the error message issued by that program:<BR>/usr/bin/initdb: cannot create /dev/null: directory nonexistent</DIV>

<DIV>Question: Does anyone know how to resolve the above problem?</DIV>

<DIV>The same installation works fine in Windows 2000 Professional.</DIV>
