I'm not sure if its of interest to you but there was mention of OpenLDAP
support for postgresql (or some patches to achieve it) in this message:
http://fts.postgresql.org/db/mw/msg.html?mid=1013715

Subject: ldap support
heya:
my sysadmin here was asking if there will ever be
native support for ldap in postgres?
I know that pam will of course have ldap
through it s plugin
my sysadmin suggest that native support would be more advantageous
any thoughts?
