The following is in relation to the 7.4 RC 1 release of code.
When using the pgAdminIII gui tool to add columns to a table, there are some
unusual, system added column types appearing.
Upon selecting one of them, a select * from {table} showed the column I had
created, but, when trying to add a row via the gui, it wouldn't save the
details, saying that the column was of unknown or unsupported type.
Regards,
peter.
