So, if core is taken out, how do ppl know who is on core?

Your definition of Core "I have always considered core a steering committee
type of deal." is right on the ball ... when it comes time to do releases,
beta's etc ... all that is first discussed on Core before going to anywhere
else ...

Not sure where Bruce gets his "mostly for confidential company contacts and
discipline.", but I'm not sure when the last time was we dealt with any
'discipline', nor any 'confidential company contacts' *shrug* Actually, for
the later, I'd say Greatbridge was the only time we've dealt with *that* ...
