I was looking through your emails and wondering whether I should add
this to the open items list before you got to this one. :p Thanks for
reviewing so many patches and calling them out!

Since this fails silently and does not appear to be documented either,
I'll add an open item for it, if the commit owners feels otherwise, they
can resolve the item accordingly.
