Dear pgAdmin Support Team,
I am writing to report an issue I am facing with connecting to a server
after installing pgAdmin.
During the installation process, I was never prompted to create a password
for the 'postgres' user or any other administrative user.
Now, when I try to connect to a server (in this case, 'PostgreSQL 17'), I
am prompted to enter a password for the user 'postgres', as shown in the
screenshot I have attached. Since a password was never set up during
installation, I am unable to provide the correct credentials and cannot
connect to any external databases. Leaving the password field blank does
not work.
Could you please advise on how to resolve this situation? Is there a
default password, or is there a way to set or reset the password for the
'postgres' user to allow me to connect to the server?
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Sincerely,
Rubens Oliveira
