Greenplum just released a press announcement today about Bizgres MPP, at the
end of which it was described that we originated the "table
partitioning, bitmap scan, and improved copy performance" features in
Postgresql, when in fact we did not implement bitmap scan, it was entirely
Tom Lane's effort.

This was a mistake that we missed on review of the press release, and we
we've notified our PR people about it and removed the text from our website
version of the announcement (
http://www.greenplum.com/news_press_article.php?id=17)

We regret this error as it doesn't match the appreciation we here at
Greenplum have for the excellent work done by the PostgreSQL developers on
behalf of all database users, and from which we derive our products.
Particularly Tom's work, which is consistently excellent, but was
particularly beneficial in the case of bitmap scan.

Sincerely,

Luke Lonergan
CTO, Greenplum
