did you try to use a PL/SQL Block to initialize the necessary integer values in your declare block e.g.
DECLARE
SET @INT_MIN = INTEGER ( min ); --Min Value
SET @INT_MAX = INTEGER ( max ); --Max value
BEGIN
....
END;
