I'm using 8.4 and read these docs:
http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.4/static/ssl-tcp.html

1. Are root.crl and root.crt optional when using self-signed certificates?

2. I'm using RHEL 5. Should server.* go into /var/lib/pgsql/data with
the config files?

3. Is this how you configure the JDBC client to handle SSL?
http://www.razorsql.com/articles/postgresql_ssl_jdbc.html

Thanks,

Mike
