You missed out!
The content was of much more general interest than last year. A lot of
talks given last year were people describing pet projects or big
commercial instrumentation projects, that probably weren't really
applicable to my use case. A lot of talks were quite technical, but of
broad interest (Heikki's talk on statistics, Simon Rigg's talk on
replication, Bruce Momjian's (abridged, unfortunately) talk on MVCC).
As usual, I found the "hall track" to be of most interest. I had the
pleasure of talking quite a bit to Gianni Ciolli of 2nd Quadrant, who
did a really cool talk on using pg to play chess, and to Simon Riggs.
They're both very nice guys. I look forward to taking a look at
Gianni's source code when he releases it.
I wasn't too rushed this year. I was able to participate in all of the
pre and post conference social events, including cart racing:

I was stranded in Frankfurt for an extra day, due to poor weather
conditions. I could have done without that, but I was put up in a
reasonably good hotel by Aerlingus.
