The menu option should be disabled, as the button is - but that seems
to be ignored on the Mac Help menu (which as Mac users will know is
handled somewhat differently from other menus).
I've committed a fix to prevent the crash and display a message if no
hint is available for the current object (in lieu of being able to
disable the option).
