PostgreSQL 19 RC1 and GA release dates

Hi,

PostgreSQL 19 RC1 ("Release Candidate 1") is scheduled for Thursday, Oct
15, 2026. Unless there are significant issues found during the release
candidate period, the GA release is scheduled for Thursday, Oct 29,
2026. This in turn gives us a couple of weeks of bug fixes ahead of the
November 2026 update release, which is typically how we try to time the GA.

As always at this point in the release cycle, I want to extend my thanks
and gratitude to everyone who has helped get PostgreSQL 19 to this
point. This year has been notable as we've seen rapid shift in how
software is both developed and consumed, with these changes also having
impacted this PostgreSQL development cycle. I'm truly appreciative of
all the work that the community has put in to adapt to these changes
while still ensuring that PostgreSQL maintains its incredibly high
quality bar that gets people to trust us with their data.
