Configuring pg_hba.conf file on OS X

I have PostgreSQL 9.0 installed on my Mac. The pg_hba.conf file is supposed to live in the data subdirectory of the installation, but the folder is locked. Is there a way to set up the file through the admin tool? Thanks.
