Assuming you have a Windows install, have you tried going to the Control Panel, Users, and deleting the user 'Posgres' before your reinstall OR changing its password to one you know? (assuming you are logged on as an admin?) This is the user that starts the Windoze service... it should need no 'maintenance tasks', but it is not allowed to have Admin rights I believe... Note that 'Postgres' is the default user at the install for the service, but you might have changed this during your initial installation of PostgreSQL...

I still have only problems with installing th program. I cant reinstall as a service. It says wrong password. or account name.

So I mark off the service and then the installing seems to work. But when i clic on the pg_ctl program to start a errormessage comes. In Installation Notes it says

"Installation as a Program
If you do not wish to install PostgreSQL as a service, it may be installed as an application for manual startup and shutdown. You will need to use the pg_ctl program to start and stop PostgreSQL as required."

But it doesnt work. Arent there anyone who knows anything about this. Doesnt it exist any real support who can help when the installation really dont work.

Kind regards
