How do I access the 'n'th point in a path?

Hello all,

If I have a path that looks like [ ( 1, 2 ), ( 3, 4 ), ( 5, 6 ) ], how
do I access a particular point within that node?  I tried selecting
my_path[1], but no go.  Any ideas?
