Hi all,

I sent similar mail 5 days ago to mailing list owner, but I didn't get
any answer. Maybe someone here can help.

ccTLD .yu is due to separation of Serbia and Montenegro being replaced
by ccTLDs .rs (for Serbia) and .me (for Montenegro). As of 10 March
2008, .rs domain is active [1]. ccTLD .yu will exist for a while, most
probably until September 2009, when it will be abandoned. Please reffer
to IANA list [2].

Yesterday, I tried to subscribe to this mailing list with my .rs
address, but I got the following error message:

-----------------------
The e-mail address
ognjen(at)etf(dot)bg(dot)ac(dot)rs
is invalid.
The host name does not include a valid top-level domain.
Location of the error: "rs"
-----------------------

Majordomo developer Brent Chapman confirmed this as a bug, and wrote the
proposed solution for the problem:

-----------------------
This is something that the never-officially-released Majordomo2 code
(from http://www.mj2.org/) is doing, not something that the released
Majordomo code (latest version 1.94.5, from
http://www.greatcircle.com/majordomo) is doing.

As you surmised, Majordomo2 has a list of top-level domains that it
checks for validity. It appears that the only way to add a domain to
the list (at least in the pre-release version that I'm running) is to
edit the list in the code, which is at the end of the lib/Mj/Addr.pm
file. Alternatively, you can disable the check entirely by unsetting
the global configuration variable "addr_strict_domain_check"; you can do
this via the mj_shell command "configset GLOBAL addr_strict_domain_check
= no".
-----------------------

I suppose that pgsql-novice maililing list is also using
never-officially-released Majordomo2, and that is the reason why I can't
subscribe with .rs address.

Can administrator of this mailing list update the top level domail list,
or turn off the TLD checking as described in the above message?

-Ognjen
