Sounds logical - being a newbie, how does that work?&nbsp; Do the user
groups buy it upfront and then get what they can or is it fronted with
the idea of gathering donations?<br>

<pre wrap="">Last year we made a donation to NPR and got our annual swag for it
- lovely mug and bag. When I did our taxes though I had to enter a
value for the swag. Actually NPR's receipt gave it to me. This
years donation won't include us receiving swag, the stuff is nice,
but I'd rather the whole tax benefit.

<pre wrap="">Thanks that's good to know. However, I wouldn't mind getting a
t-shirt every now and then thought. :)

The primary SWAG issue is one of logistics. Right now the community
orders SWAG in bulk and we distribute SWAG in bulk. Allowing for one
off distribution becomes very expensive in terms of time. Time, is the
one thing none of us have a lot of.

One thought would be to distribute this load through user groups. PgUS
orders a bunch of SWAG in bulk and then distributes it to various user
groups. Thus if Joe Conway wants a shirt, he contacts LAPUG as that is
his closest user group (even though he is in San Diego). LAPUG deals
with collecting and distribution.

Thoughts?

Sincerely,
