As a senior member of the software development team you will be
responsible for designing database-centric solutions for data access and
storage. You will perform as a database performance analyst, identifying
root causes and remedies while being responsible for developing
performance improvement solutions. Also, the successful candidate will
institute high availability, replication, and business continuity
solutions, define performance solutions like indexes, partitions, views,
and stored procedures. The successful candidate will also be responsible
for delivering web-based services that revolve around subscriber policy
integrated with the database back-end. Possible integration with ISP OSS
systems may be involved. This PostgresSQL Developer role will include:

- Working on PostgreSQL internals to add features and performance
enhancements

- Maintaining the PostgreSQL source code, and importing and testing new
versions

- Maintaining the installation and upgrade system for PostgreSQL and DB
schema on FreeBSD

- Tuning performance for specific platforms and applications

- Investigating third party solutions for clustering and high availability

- Troubleshooting and resolution of customer issues

The following skills are considered required:

- 5 years experience in software development with strong design skills

- 2+ years experience using PostgreSQL in a UNIX/Linux environment

- Hands-on experience with database programming including stored
procedures, complex SQL, Unix scripting

- Distributed multi-tier design and development

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- High initiative, self-starter, and demonstrated leadership ability

The following would be considered an asset:

- Apache, SOAP and web services

- XML processing technologies

- Unix, Networking experience

- Object-oriented development using Java, C++

- Tcl
