POSTGRESQL BUG REPORT TEMPLATE
============================================================================

Your name : Joachim Jahnke
Your email address : dr(dot)jahnke(at)kern-liebers(dot)de

System Configuration
---------------------
Architecture (example: Intel Pentium) : SUN Sparc 2

Operating System (example: Linux 2.0.26 ELF) : Redhat 6.0 - Linux 2.2.5

PostgreSQL version (example: PostgreSQL-7.0): PostgreSQL-7.0.2

Compiler used (example: gcc 2.8.0) : gcc version ecgs-2.91.66

Please enter a FULL description of your problem:
------------------------------------------------
Postmaster starts up correctly ..... psql hangs, no display, no action
no errors, taking over 90% CPU capacity

I got the same result using original Redhat-Bin-RPM Postgresql 6.5.3
tried compiling the Src-6.5 with same result. Today i get a copy of PG-7.0.2-SRC
and compiled it without any error messages ..... postmaster running fine,
postgres-backend used direcly works fine - but psql (or pgaccess) are hanging.

If have seen the same bug reported in a mailing list - but found
no solution.

Please describe a way to repeat the problem. Please try to provide a
concise reproducible example, if at all possible:
