Configure error Beta 8.0.0

Can not configure Beta 8.0.0beta1 on SuSE 9.1 kernel 2.6.5-7.104. Was
able to install beta 8 on SuSE 9.0 on a 2.4 xxx kernel. Do I need to
revert back?
