Hello,

I've just compiled and installed postgres 7.2.3 on an IRIX6.5.
When I tried to initdb, i got the following:

bash-2.04$ /usr/local/pgsql/bin/initdb -D /var/lib/pgsql/data

creating directory /var/lib/pgsql/data... ok
creating directory /var/lib/pgsql/data/base... ok
creating directory /var/lib/pgsql/data/global... ok
creating directory /var/lib/pgsql/data/pg_xlog... ok
creating directory /var/lib/pgsql/data/pg_clog... ok
creating template1 database in /var/lib/pgsql/data/base/1...
IpcSemaphoreCreate: semctl(id=1, 0, SETALL, ...) failed: Bad address

initdb failed.

I wasn't able to find anything specific in the FAQs. It looks like there is
no IRIX FAQ.

If anyone runs postgres on IRIX, encountered this error and has
a solution for it, could you please drop me a line on how can I
fix it?

Thanks,
Ovidiu
