I was looking at Bruce's book online and was wondering if somewhere,
there was a description of the benefits/costs of a single server hosting
multiple databases, implemented with...

1) a single postmaster running an instance with multiple databases, or
2) multiple postmasters (running on different ports), each with one
database.

Thanks
