Hello.

My name is Tony O'seland, and I am one of the founders of Cedar Wolf
Productions, a small Not For Profit Organization that assists small
Native American communities, organizations and Non-Profit groups with
basic technology, adult education, tutoring, and tax preparation
assistance.

The reason I am writing this letter is quite simple. I'm out begging
for used technology.

Cedar Wolf Productions is a small enough non-profit that there are
only four people in the entire organization which serves up to several
hundred individuals at any given time.

Presently we have two older Packard Bell 486 DX4's (which we found out
the hard way were actually 386's with overdrives soldered to the CPU)
and two IBM 286's.

Because every dollar that we are able to raise is immediately put back
into the Native communities in our area we do not presently have
Internal Revenue Service 501C3 status, so any donation we receive is
not tax deductible. This status has a price tag of well over $800.00
US, not including the possible need for a lawyer to read and proof
your paperwork and status request.

We have a request presently from four small communities for assistance
in locating hardware and software for continuing education/adult
literacy projects in their communities.

To be specific, we have requests for a dozen Pentium based computers,
Microsoft Office 97/2000 Professional, Dreamweaver2 (I managed to talk
them out of asking for Hot Dog 5.5...some of them can't turn on a
computer yet, let alone figure out Sausage Software), Quickbooks, and
a variety of other programs used in basic computer training and
enabling a student to possibly enter and compete in the marketplace by
being base-line computer literate.

I warned the groups that, in my opinion, their requests would probably
not be filled because of the market these days and the lack of
deductibility of the donations, but when the Elders ask, you do as
asked.

I thank you for reading this request, and for more information, you
can contact me at cedarwol(at)ipa(dot)net(dot)

Wa-Do!

Yours,

Tony O'seland
