BarCamp Portland
Friday through Sunday, May 2-4, 2008
http://barcampportland.org

Location:
CubeSpace
622 SE Grand Ave.
Portland, OR 97214

Tech + Geek + Culture. The event for the Portland tech community,
produced BY the Portland tech community.

What is BarCamp? It is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for
people to share and learn in an open environment, with discussions,
demos, and interaction from participants.

BarCamp is a FREE event and the content is determined by the
attendees. The event will be hosted at CubeSpace, which has a number
of conference rooms for breakout sessions, a large main meeting area,
wireless access, easy access to public transportation, bike storage,
and nearby parking. Thanks to Eva and David at CubeSpace for hosting
the event again this year.

If you are planning to attend, please add yourself as an attendee on
our Upcoming page as soon as possible. This will help us get a more
accurate attendance count and plan accordingly (you want food,
right?):

The event kicks off on Friday evening, May 2, 7pm at CubeSpace. Doors
open an hour earlier at 6pm for registration and networking.
Transportation and parking information is available on the website.
Friday night activities will include a reception, kickoff
presentation, session planning, and networking. If you are wanting to
present or organize a gathering at BarCamp Portland, you should make
every effort to attend the Friday night reception to get your session
idea on the agenda.

Saturday (05/03) and Sunday (05/04) are the actual BarCamp Portland
sessions (also at CubeSpace). Breakfast and registation (it's free, we
just need to give you a badge) begins at 9am on both Saturday and
Sunday, with the official kickoff beginning at 9:30am. The event will
be going until 11pm on Saturday night and 3pm on Sunday, so it's ok if
you are not able to commit to the entire day. Walk-ins are always
welcome!

We are expecting a large turnout and a great time for all. Food,
facilities, wifi access and all the other costs associated with
operating the event will be provided, thanks to our generous sponsors:
About Us, CommandPrompt, Copious Creative, CubeSpace, Easystreet,
Galois, Hockley Photography, Intrigo, Instrument, ISITE, Jive
Software, Legion of Tech, Oracle, OregonStartups.com, OSL, OTBC,
Portland State University, POSSE, Open Sourcery, RNA Networks, Silicon
Florist, Silicon Mechanics, Stoel Rives and Vidoop.

I hope to see you at BarCamp Portland in just a few days!
