Hi all!

It sounded from the previous thread (end of January) like Hans was
taking the lead on this - thought I'd pass on the latest conference
announcement I've recieved below.

May 28 - 31, 2008 in Berlin/Germany

As the North American representative of Messe Berlin/Linux Tag 2008,
we would like to make you aware of this exciting event, that has fast
become Europe's leading exhibition on Linux and Open Source.

LinuxTag takes place from May 28 - 31, 2008 at Berlin's Messezentrum
unter dem Funkturm. The international event (conference languages are
English and German) attracts about 10,000 visitors ranging from IT
managers, developers, system administrators to users and those
interested in new and exciting Open Source solutions.

The debut of Linux Tag 2007 in Berlin came to a successful conclusion
with a final attendance of 9,600. For four days the exhibition halls
at the Berlin Funkturm were the meeting place for users, experts and
others with a particular interest in Linux and in free and open source
software from all over Europe, Asia, Africa and North America.

Reactions to the first LinuxTag to be held in the German capital were
remarkably positive: 94 per cent of those questioned obtained a good
or very good overall impression of the event. In addition, some 85 per
cent were also satisfied with the commercial results of their
attendance at this trade show. The extensive program of conventions
and papers was assessed positively by nine out of ten of those
questioned. The relocation to Berlin met with the approval of around
82 per cent of the visitors polled. Over 90 per cent declared their
intention of attending the next LinuxTag in Berlin. (Please see
attached audit)

With more than 80 exhibiting free projects LinuxTag is the most
important platform for Open-Source-Projects worldwide, where several
world premieres like the release of Fedora Core 7 were celebrated.

For further details, please visit the official web site
www.linuxtag.org or call our North American office in Fredericksburg/
Virginia.

With kind regards,

Dorothea Baxter

Hope to see you at LinuxTag 2008 in Berlin!
