Dear Sir,

I have tried to install PostGreSQL 7.4 on AIX 5.1. All steps were
completed successfully until I was typed the command "initdb -D
/posthome/pgsql/data" on the console.

It showed me the following message

creating conversions... ERROR: could not access file
"$libdir/ascii_and_mic": A
file or directory in the path name does not exist.

I have set the LIBPATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH (It should not be used in
AIX)to "/posthome/pgsql/lib" and I could see ascii_and_mic there. I
don't know how to proceed totally after trying a several hours. Would
you please point me out how to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Chan Chiu
