*Description:* Spiral Universe is seeking an expert level Java/J2EE
software/database developer to join our company in developing cutting edge
school management, social networking, and education based applications. (No
contractors, no telecommuters, and no headhunters please.)

As a senior Java software/database developer for Spiral you will be
responsible for overall design, development, deployment, and maintenance of
our database and middle-tier application server level systems in a
distributed environment. In addition this position will entail aiding and
mentoring team members, providing architectural oversight to ensure
compliance with standards and best practices, and working with the project
management team to analyze and improve operational efficiency.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communication skills,
who is talented, energetic, and innovative and enjoys working with robust,
large scale, high-volume production applications, while being in a fun
startup environment, surrounded by a team of leading professionals from
around the world on a wide variety of projects.

Required qualifications include:

- Expertise with Java/J2EE software development, design patterns, and
developing scalable, high availability Java applications.
- Expertise with relational database development (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Expertise with application servers (Tomcat preferred)
- Expertise with Hibernate/Spring frameworks
- Experience with Google Web Toolkit (GWT)
- Experience with Ext-GWT (aka GXT) is a plus

Also valuable: Subversion (SVN), XML/XSLT, TRAC, Eclipse, ANT
