. Sr Postgres Database Engineer, Silver Springs, MD..on site full
time..We will relocate if needed!!... Red hot web/internet company, making
money, providing a great service! Compensation is wide open..

5-10+ years experience designing, implementing, refining, and deploying
relational databases (e.g., Postgres, Oracle, SQL LINUX and Windows
environments at the Enterprise and project levels, operating in both a
heterogeneous and non-heterogeneous environments. Specifically, qualified
engineers must have the following experience:

o Experience in Open Source Postgres database

o Experience with Linux server and desktop operating systems

o Experience with procedural languages

o Defining, documenting, and implementing database logical and physical
design and architecture

o Maintaining and evolving existing databases, as well as defining and
building new ones

o Sizing (capacity planning), performance analysis and tuning, and modeling

o Resolving database problems and issues and in creating new
features/functionality for existing database

o Database administration background

o Ability to work independently, limited supervision, dedicated to quality
customer service; excellent verbal and written communication skills;
superior technical skills; strong problem analysis and troubleshooting
skills.

. Additional skills desired are Java and JDBC, designing scalable
databases and performance tuning.
