My assistance is of the form of actually getting it done. Simon's
work is absolutely fantastic, but only when the rest of the community
can actually help. When it shows up late, it actually hurts
everybody, most of all Simon.

If, "your past strategy has a track record of failure, go with a new
strategy, one pretty much universally adopted in PostgreSQL," will
demotivate someone, I can't help that, and I doubt it's actually true.
I'm trying to help here, and encouraging a failed strategy is not
helping.
