Maybe not the n00b, but at least amateurs like me who have been using
MySQL for some years, and are fed up with all the gotchas and coding
around all the inherent weaknesses of that DBMS.

MySQL is a lot like the dirty old BASIC of the eighties: It has a lot of
mindshare and an easy learning curve, but you're guaranteed to hit the
wall sooner or later. And then it takes quite some time of unlearning
all the bad things you had to do to make it do the things you wanted.
