== PostgreSQL Weekly News - August 14 2005 ==

There are only five days left to submit a paper to the Open Source
Database Conference in Frankfurt, Germany. Entry form is at
http://input.entwickler.com

At OSCON, SRA and Command Prompt shared a booth next to the PostgreSQL
community booth (immediately visible on entering the hall), with staff
for each mixing freely. Pervasive and EnterpriseDB were
enthusiastically present. Slides from OSCON 2005 are posted at
http://techdocs.postgresql.org/oscon2005/

At Linuxworld Expo, EnterpriseDB was kind enough to donate goodies,
staff and 1/4 of their spacious booth to the PostgreSQL community.
Travelpost kindly sponsored the BoF(H).

Tom Lane has submitted a patch that keeps OID collisions from
occurring. This will help with unvacuumed databases, among other
things.

Tom Copeland upgraded pgFoundry to GForge 4.0.2. This is part of a
multi-stage upgrade which will eventually result in support for
Subversion, private databases for each project, and a dedicated
pgFoundry server. Other new features should be apparent as well,
thanks to the GForge Project. Thanks to Tom for doing this.

PlanetPostgreSQL has a new home on postgresql.org servers.
