I am attaching a new bin/Makefile that should fix it. The new code is:

# this platform needs the thread compiler flag for all binaries
# to override libc
ifeq ($(PORTNAME), unixware)
CPPFLAGS += "$THREAD_CPPFLAGS"
endif

Larry, does this fix it?
