Oluwatope Akinniyi (topeakinniyi(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot)uk) reports a bug with a severity of 2
The lower the number the more severe it is.

Short Description
SERVICE DENIAL ON XP

Long Description
1. During Installation of Postgresql on Windows XP it defaults the service account to the Administrator which is not a prominent account on Windows XP (but a hidden account). It reports that Administrator account is unknown. I walked around this by
a. refusing the installer to restart after installation
b. delete the service
c. edit the service installer script and change the account to another account.
d. reinstall the service
e. restart the system

2. The annoying thing is that after some shutting and restating windows the service would refuse to start for reason not well defined.

I think we need to do more on the strength of postgresql on windows. Is any body running the latest postgresql windows version on any commercial scale? Is this problem peculiar to Windows XP or is it better on Windows 2000 or NT4?
