I just noticed that this patch added an attribute 'pertinent' to the _defines
structure. However, I cannot find a reference to this attribute anywhere
else. Since this happened before I'm afraid I removed some part of the patch
by committing my own changes I'd like to know what this is supposed to do.

And since I do not know who send the patch I just ask here.
