Well, that's not supposed to happen, but you haven't provided anywhere
near enough information for anyone else to duplicate/debug it.
What version of Postgres is this exactly, and what macOS version?
What configure options did you use while building Postgres?
Are you using non-default versions of any libraries? How about
non-default postgresql.conf options?
