I have attached a patch against the init script for 7.2

(http://people.redhat.com/teg/pg/postgresql-server-7.2-1.72.i386.rpm)

This patches the init script to look for a file in
/etc/sysconfig/postgresql to configure some postgresql startup
information. In particular, the line

PGDATA=<somedir>

will change the location of posgtesql's data directory.
