replication

hello,

i have tried rather fruitlessly to find some material on replication of PostGreSQL databases. FYI MySQL had this "feature" as its
number one urgency prior to its latest release which includes the technology.

i must say, that any database that wants to establish itself as a leading product for internet applications must overcome this
hurdle. MySQL's implementation might not be great, but it certainly is available without an "engineering" effort (i.e. programming
some kind of proxy to 2 back-ends), or some kind of "hack" (reading the logs, pumping through a perl script, and updating another
database).

i have read the material in the TODO list regarding this topic, and have tried to directly reach some of the discussion participants
.. with little success. has anyone taken ownership of this feature? has a design approach been approved by the steering commitee?
has this feature simply rolled under some dusty table? if this feature is soon to be made available, what are my current "approved"
options? have there been any contributions of working solutions by other users?

with no information to go on, i'm tempted to use another product, something i don't actually want to do, because i believe that
PostGreSQL is a great database, and one that we can grow with.

can anybody tell me what's going on??
