Hi,
My name is Thomas Hallgren. I recently had the opportunity to dive into
the PostgreSQL backend and start on the code you see posted in this
project. If you have an interest of using Java in the PostgreSQL backend
and want to try this stuff, start with downloading the development
source (there's no stable release yet). If you run into problems, please
let me know. I'm eager to help.

It's been a while since I worked with the configure utility and
makefiles (I've been hiding in the Java cave for a number of years now)
and I'm well aware that some stuff in this area could be better. If you
know how to do this, I'll be happy to let you have a go at it.
Developers who are fluent in JNI and want to contribute, please drop me
a line.

For more info on the initial release, please have a look at:
http://gborg.postgresql.org/project/pljava/genpage.php?relnotes and
http://gborg.postgresql.org/project/pljava/genpage.php?jni_rationale.

Regards,

Thomas Hallgren
