Dear all,

I am trying to configure a pentium II 128 Megs of memory and 8 gigabytes of
hard disk a Linux server for storing a database using PostgreSQL and also an
Apache Server ( I will use www_sql to access the database through the web).

I am trying to install the postgreSQL server using the source. I am having
problems to install it. I have followed your instructions and the ones in
the source and I didnt success. My question is that I can downloaded the RPM
instead? Is there any reason for not using a RPM? Is it slower? In the case
that I install the RPM version, can I recompile the system to make it work
faster? Is there any reason for not using the last version of PostgreSQL
instead of the 6.5.3 version?

Thank you very much in advance

Miguel
